Lesson FAQs
Where do lessons take place?
I teach from home in Redhill, Surrey, and at a local school. Some of my students who live further afield prefer to have online lessons, which I am happy to discuss.

Do you enter students for exams?
Yes! I have lots of experience entering students for music exams. I usually use ABRSM but am happy to work with other boards if that is your preference. Most of my students enjoy taking exams because it gives them something to work towards. However, they're not for everyone, and I teach many students who prefer not to work towards exams. We often set other goals, such as informal performances or recordings for family, instead.

How long are lessons?
Most beginner and younger pupils have one half-hour lesson each week. Older pupils or those who are at a more advanced level often opt for 45-minute or hour-long lessons.

Are there any age limits?
I typically teach students who are aged 4+, and there is no upper age limit. I usually ask parents/carers of my youngest pupils to sit in on lessons.

How many lessons do you teach per year?
I generally follow the term dates of the local state schools. This means that I teach a minimum of 30 lessons per year, but it often works out to being around 35.
